Lucknow: A 14-year-old girl and her 16-year-old male friend were found dead in Sarangpur village of Hardoi district on Friday morning, in what police described as a suspected suicide pact.The girl, a Class 8 student, and the boy, a Class 9 student, were residents of the same area. Police said they were reportedly in a relationship. According to family members, the girl left home around 3 pm on Thursday, while the boy left his house around 5 pm.The girl’s mother approached police at about 10.20 pm on Thursday and filed a complaint naming the boy, his parents and another person.The case came to light early Friday after the boy’s family noticed a WhatsApp status posted from his phone stating that the two had died by suicide at a location locally known as Natan Wale Bagh. Relatives and villagers reached the spot and found both bodies.Police arrived, secured the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.Additional superintendent of police (East) Subodh Gautam inspected the location. Atarauli SHO Shivakant Pandey said preliminary findings point to suicide linked to the relationship, but all angles are being examined, including events leading up to the deaths and other possible factors.
