Lucknow: An 18-year-old passenger who fell from a moving train near Babatpur railway station near Varanasi was rescued and reunited with his family following a coordinated response by railway staff and the Railway Protection Force.The incident was reported around 1.04 am on Thursday when train number Ekatmata Express was stopped at Babatpur station after the alarm chain was pulled. During the halt, family members informed station master Chandresh Kumar Singh that the youth had fallen from the train about 3-4 km before the station.The station master alerted the railway control office and nearby railway personnel. A caution message was also issued to the loco pilot of New Delhi- Rajgir Shramjeevi Express (12392), which was approaching the section.The loco pilot of Shramjivi Express route later spotted the teenager sitting beside the tracks. He was taken into safe custody until RPF personnel reached the spot and escorted him.In joint coordination with commercial control, RPF men brought the youth via Patliputra – Chandigarh SF Express (22355) to Babatpur station, where he was reunited with his family.The passenger was identified as Ayush Chauhan, 18, resident of Chandauli district. He was travelling with his family from Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to SGPGI in Lucknow for medical treatment, North Railway said.
