Dhubri: An assistant teacher serving at 989 No. Rastrabhasa Hindi Primary School in Dhubri town was arrested on Monday for allegedly showing objectionable content on his mobile phone to students.Police reached the school after receiving information about the incident and took Abdul Khaleque to Dhubri police station amid public outrage.
Ward No. 3 commissioner Joydeb Paul said residents of 3 No. Balurchar staged a protest before police arrived and demanded that Khaleque be released. Paul said he prevented them from entering the school premises.OC of Dhubri Police Station (Sadar), Pritam Das, said Khaleque confessed to his crime during preliminary interrogation. “We are now framing a case under various sections of BNS,” Das said.Guardians alleged that a student came out of the school and told her mother about the teacher’s alleged act.
