TeachBetter.ai has launched Version 5.0 of its AI-powered teaching platform, introducing a new feature called “PaperQR Live Quiz”, aimed at enabling real-time classroom assessment without requiring individual student devices.
The company said the feature has been designed to help schools conduct continuous in-class assessments aligned with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises competency-based learning and ongoing evaluation instead of relying only on periodic examinations.
According to the platform, teachers can create quizzes through the system and students can respond using printed QR-based response cards instead of smartphones or tablets. Teachers can then scan the classroom using a mobile phone or laptop camera to capture responses instantly and generate analytics and performance insights.
The company claims the system removes the need for specialised hardware, logins, or digital infrastructure, making it easier for schools with limited resources to adopt technology-enabled assessments.
The launch comes amid increasing focus on formative assessment models in schools, where educators are expected to track student understanding during classroom teaching rather than depending solely on end-term examinations.
“Education policies like NEP 2020 have clearly outlined the need for continuous assessment and real-time feedback, but implementation at scale has remained a challenge,” said Binit Agarwalla. “The idea behind PaperQR is to make classroom assessment simple, affordable, and accessible even in resource-constrained environments.”
The company said the feature is integrated into its broader platform, which includes AI tools for lesson planning, quizzes, worksheets, presentations, simulations, and multilingual support.
TeachBetter.ai currently offers more than 20 AI tools and supports over 80 languages, including Indian languages. The platform is being used by teachers across India and several other countries, including Kenya and the Philippines, according to the company.
The platform is available through a subscription model priced at ₹299 per month per teacher, with a 14-day free trial for users.
