Hyderabad: One of India’s largest artificial intelligence data centre campuses in the country is all set to come up at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad with TCS HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, announcing plans to invest Rs 70,000 crore in setting up a gigawatt-scale facility aimed at catering to frontier AI companies like OpenAI, hyperscalers and global enterprises.The facility was announced after a high-level TCS delegation led by its CEO and managing director K Krithivasan met Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy and IT minister D Sridhar Babu at the secretariat on Saturday afternoon and exchanged MoUs.

TCS has secured 264 acres for the project that is expected to create about 7,000 direct and indirect jobs across technical, construction, engineering and operations roles. The campus will be developed in phases based on customer demand and evolving technology requirements.Designed for high-density GPU deployments, the facility will support AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads.HyperVault said the campus would use liquid-cooled compute infrastructure, larger power blocks and faster deployment models to meet the needs of companies building and running large AI systems. At full build-out, it is expected to be among India’s largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses.CM Revanth Reddy termed the project as historic for both the state and the country and said it firmly establishes Hyderabad at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure.“This decade is one of AI. Access to AI models and compute is fast becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” he said.Sridhar Babu said the agreement demonstrated the state’s ability to move quickly on major investments. “We tell investors and corporations across the world, Telangana means business. We move at speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world,” he said.The IT minister said the project followed discussions between the CM and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran at Davos in January 2026.Telangana govt officials said Telangana beat five competing states to secure the investment, describing it as one of the largest private-sector data centre commitments involving a state govt.Krithivasan of TCS said HyperVault advances TCS’s “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence” strategy by combining AI-ready infrastructure with cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities.HyperVault CEO and managing director Deepesh Kiran Nanda said Hyderabad offers the foundation to build large-scale infrastructure for next-generation AI workloads and hyperscaler demand.TCS said the data centre development would incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles. Officials said the project could also strengthen India’s broader AI infrastructure supply chain, including power, cooling, networking, construction and data centre operations.
