New Delhi: A Dwarka court has sought an action taken report from police on a complaint alleging that the parents and maternal grandfather of one of the accused in the Tarun Butolia murder case fabricated documents to falsely portray him as a juvenile. The case relates to the death of 26-year-old Tarun Butolia, who succumbed to injuries sustained during a Holi clash in Uttam Nagar on March 4.Judicial magistrate Deeksha Sethi passed the direction while hearing the application under Section 175(3) of BNSS seeking registration of an FIR. The court directed SHO of the Uttam Nagar police station to file an ATR clarifying “whether the complaint has been received”, “whether the same discloses any cognisable offence”, “whether any FIR was registered or not”, and the reasons for any delay in acting on the complaint. The matter has been listed for Sept 15.Meanwhile, another court is monitoring the investigation into a separate FIR arising from the same case concerning alleged casteist threats extended to Butolia’s family. Additional sessions judge Shivali Bansal recently directed that a status report on the investigation be filed before the next hearing on Aug 8.
