CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu has seen brisk polling since 7am on Thursday, with turnout touching 82% by 5 pm. This represents 4.71 cr voters out of the total electorate of 5.73 crore in 234 constituencies.According to Election Commission of India (ECI) data, the turnout between 7am and 9am stood at 17.69%. In the following two hours (9am to 11am), an additional 19.87% was recorded, bringing the total to 37.86%. The surge continued with 19.25% polling between 11am and 1pm, and 13.19% from 1pm to 3pm, culminating in the 70% figure. In the next two hours cycle, the voting percentage went up by 82%.
