Chennai: Tambaram Corporation will conduct a Pulse Polio immunisation drive across its five zones on Sunday, June 28, to administer oral polio drops to all children below 5 years of age.The special vaccination campaign will be held from 7 am to 5 pm in a single phase. Officials said around 67,914 children are expected to receive the vaccine at govt hospitals, primary health centres, sub-health centres, schools and anganwadi centres within the corporation limits.To ensure maximum coverage, the civic body has set up 180 vaccination centres, 17 special booths at bus stands, railway stations and other public places, and one mobile medical team to reach children who may otherwise miss the drive.The corporation has urged parents to bring all children below 5 years for vaccination on Sunday, even if they have previously received routine polio doses.
