The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹131 crore for the Men’s T20 World Cup-winning squad and support staff.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the announcement through a media statement on Tuesday (March 10, 2026). “With this victory, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, further cementing their place among the most successful teams in the history of the format,” Saikia stated.
The Hindu understands that each of the 15 players in the squad will receive ₹6 crore, while the remaining ₹41 crore will be distributed among the coaching staff and other support staff members.
Following India’s triumphant campaign in 2024, the BCCI had announced a bonus of ₹125 crore, with each player receiving ₹5 crore.
Earlier on Monday (March 9, 2026), BCCI president Mithun Manhas had praised the team for becoming the first side to defend the T20 World Cup and the first to win the tournament on home soil.
“Winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a moment of immense pride for the entire nation. To defend the title and achieve this feat on home soil makes it even more special,” Manhas said.
“The team played outstanding cricket throughout the tournament under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and the guidance of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir. I congratulate every member of the squad, the coaching staff and the selectors for this remarkable accomplishment.”
