Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday criticised chief minister A Revanth Reddy for suggesting that Rahul Gandhi could become the next prime minister. Addressing a press conference, party chief spokesperson NV Subash questioned the basis of the claim, asserting that PM Narendra Modi continues to enjoy strong public support and dismissing the Congress projection as an attempt to divert attention from governance issues. Subash said the PM’s position is not up for debate and accused the CM of ignoring internal differences within the Congress. With only 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, he said, such declarations amount to “political daydreaming.” The BJP also opposed reported plans to restructure the GHMC, calling the move politically driven and potentially disruptive to civic services.
