The second phase will include provisions for benefit distribution and contribution collection. According to the newly approved govt proposal, the following changes will be implemented:Aadhaar-based services: All benefits provided through the 16 welfare boards under labour department will now be Aadhaar-based.Direct financial transactions: Benefits will be distributed through bank accounts linked to Aadhaar, helping eliminate intermediary involvement.Unified identification card: Members of the 16 welfare boards, whose information is collected in the AIIS software, will be issued an Aadhaar-based unique identity card.Workers can update their information in AIIS software and apply for ID cards either independently or through Akshaya centres or the respective welfare board offices.“This project will aid in ensuring social security for workers and delivering services at their fingertips through a digital system,” Sivankutty said. “The system will ensure that all workers employed in Kerala are enrolled in the respective welfare funds and receive their entitled benefits. It will make information about members of all welfare boards under labour department available on a single platform. It will help guarantee pension and other benefits without hindrance. The system will also help to eliminate duplicate memberships by preventing workers from holding memberships in multiple boards,” the minister added.
