Hyderabad: Swiss fabless semiconductor design company Kandou AI has opened its India chip design headquarters in Hyderabad, expanding its global engineering operations and strengthening its focus on semiconductor technologies for AI infrastructure.The new centre, located in Kondapur, will function as a strategic hub for advanced chip design, high-speed connectivity and next-generation AI systems.The company said the facility will support core engineering work across chip design, verification, validation, firmware, software, systems engineering and customer-facing technical teams.Kandou AI said the expansion comes as AI workloads place increasing demands on data movement, latency and power efficiency across data centres and high-performance computing platforms.Its semiconductor solutions are aimed at improving bandwidth, reducing latency and increasing energy efficiency in modern compute architectures, it added.The company said the opening of the Hyderabad headquarters marks a significant expansion of its global engineering footprint, enhancing its ability to develop and scale world-class semiconductor and AI infrastructure technologies across international teams.Srujan Linga, CEO and co-founder of Kandou AI, said Hyderabad’s depth of semiconductor engineering talent made it a key location for the company’s long-term growth.He said Kandou AI also plans to work with universities, industry and govt to help develop future semiconductor engineers.Inaugurating the facility, former IT & industries minister and BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao said: “Hyderabad’s success has always been built on exceptional talent, strong industry collaboration, and a long-term vision for technology-led growth.”“Kandou AI’s decision to establish its India headquarters here is another testament to the city’s emergence as a globally recognised semiconductor and deep technology hub,” he said.
