Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), on September 4 sought registration of an FIR against self-styled influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj, accusing him of falsely using Paswan’s name to suggest he had political backing. The complaint was filed at Parliament Police Station after a viral clip allegedly showed Bhardwaj claiming that Delhi Police had refused to take action over an incident because of his political connections. The party alleged that Bhardwaj had falsely claimed an association with Paswan and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). According to news agency ANI, the party has urged police to register an FIR, formally record that Bhardwaj has no association with the party or the matter in question, and take strict action against him.
