The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday condemned the killing of Chandra, the personal assistant to West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, near Madhyamgram in West Bengal. On Wednesday, Suvendu Adhikari’s PA was allegedly shot at and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital near Madhyamgram. In a statement on X, the TMC demanded swift action and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident. The TMC said, “We strongly condemn the brutal murder of Chandranath Rath in Madhyamgram tonight, along with the killing of three other TMC workers in incidents of post-poll violence allegedly carried out by BJP-backed miscreants over the last three days, despite the Model Code of Conduct being in force.” Watch political reactions.
