Ludhiana: A 16-year-old fruit vendor died while another was seriously injured after an SUV rammed into their carts near Chowkiman toll plaza on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nirmal of Gureh village and the injured is Arun, also from the same village.According to sources, a man was going in his SUV from Ludhiana to Jagraon side and as he reached Chowkiman toll plaza, the car driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed into roadside carts. They added that the impact was so severe that not only the car driver, but also two other persons standing there sustained injuries. Passersby immediately rushed the injured to a government hospital where Nirmal died and other was admitted with serious injuries.Meanwhile, after getting information about the accident, cops from Dakha police station reached the spot and have started an investigation into the matter. SHO, Dakha police station Inspector Kuljinder Singh said no one has recorded statement in the case. Cops said that the SUV driver also suffered injuries in the accident.
