Chennai: The Pondy Bazaar police obtained three days’ custody of the main accused in the June 1 T Nagar house burglary case. The accused, Prabhakaran, 50, surrendered before a court after remaining underground, after his wife, Sumathi, 47, was arrested.The burglary happened at the residence of businessman Venkateswara Rao, 64, on Tilak Street, after his wife, Sujatha, 60, locked the house and left for work. Burglars broke open the house and stole gold and diamond jewellery and silver articles.Police recovered seized part of the stolen articles from Sumathi’s residence, and a search is on to trace the missing valuables.
