Patna: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) on Tuesday arrested a survey amin in Banka district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs8,500 for a land survey.According to the VIB, Aditya Kumar, survey amin at the circle office, Chandan, in Banka district, was arrested following a complaint by Dinesh Mandal.The VIB in its release said, “Complainant Dinesh Mandal of Dighiwari village, Chandan, filed a complaint at the VIB office in Patna. Mandal alleged that amin Aditya demanded money while conducting a survey of his land. When the money was not paid, the amin allegedly deliberately entered errors in the land documents, including mistakes in name, caste, boundary, area and ‘khasra’ number. The amin was demanding a bribe to correct these errors.”The bureau verified the complaint, and after prima facie verification of the charges, a case was registered. A raiding team was formed under DSP Md Wasim Firoz of VIB headquarters.The team arrested Aditya while he was accepting Rs8,500 at his rented house in Chandan. The accused will be questioned and then produced before the special vigilance court in Bhagalpur.
