Surat: A 27-year-old trader kidnapped from Adajan for a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was rescued from Maharashtra within hours. Surat police arrested three men from Pune district and recovered the vehicle used in the alleged crime.DCP (Zone 5) Lakhdhirsinh Zala said, “Adajan police formed four teams after receiving intelligence about the kidnapping and launched a search for the victim and suspects. Police examined more than 200 CCTV recordings and used technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace the accused and the victim. We have arrested Raviraj Patil (38), Amol Kharmale (32) and Mayur Shinde (35), all residents of Pune district, Maharashtra.”According to police, the trader was kidnapped by three men in a black four-wheeler from a road near Trinity Business Park in Adajan. The accused confined him and demanded Rs 30 lakh as ransom. Police said he was also assaulted inside the vehicle.Investigators tracked the vehicle and located the accused and victim near Supa village on the Pune-Ahilyanagar highway in Maharashtra. The victim was rescued safely and later handed over to his family.Patil allegedly told police that the trader owed him Rs 15 lakh and had not returned the money. He said this was the reason they took him with them.Police seized a black Hyundai Venue bearing registration number MH-12-ZS-0693 and four mobile phones from the accused.
