Surat: The Surat Crime Branch raided multiple dens across the city and arrested 73 people. The raids were carried out at locations allegedly operated by known accused — Asif Tameta, Aslam Kutchi, Firoz Mindi, Yusuf Pasa and Akbar Kekda.“We conducted raids at Akbar Saeed No Tekro, Umarwada, Lalwadi, and Momnawad areas,” said deputy commissioner of police (crime) Bhavesh Rojiya. “A total of four offences have been registered, and 73 gamblers have been arrested.”During the operation, the DCB seized Rs 4.22 lakh in cash, 80 mobile phones, 8 vehicles and other gambling paraphernalia including coins and playing cards.In addition to those arrested, 22 more people have been booked as part of the ongoing investigation.
