Pune: NCP (SP) national working president Supriya Sule on Monday urged chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to ensure that the identities of victims in the Nashik astrologer Ashok Kharat case are strictly protected. She also called for immediate legal action against individuals who leaked “objectionable videos” of the victims on social media.Following the arrest of Kharat, the state govt formed a special investigation team (SIT) led by IPS officer Tejaswi Satpute. However, as the investigation progresses, several videos have surfaced online that threaten to reveal the identities of those involved.Referring to these leaks, Sule said, “The chief minister has done a commendable job in handling the Kharat case so far, and we hope this continues. However, he must particularly ensure that the identity of every victim is shielded. Those responsible for spreading these videos and personal details must face the strictest possible action.”She also emphasised the need for psychological support, demanding that the state provide professional counselling to the victims.“I have faith in the state administration. In such sensitive cases, the administration typically takes care of victims and provides support. Often, NGOs also step in to assist with counselling. I appeal to the state govt to ensure similar steps are taken in this case as well,” Sule added.
