Hyderabad: Amid rising public concern over fuel availability, authorities in Hyderabad on Tuesday moved swiftly to dispel rumours, assuring citizens that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG cylinders across the city.VC Sajjanar, Hyderabad police commissioner, clarified that adequate fuel stocks are in place and distribution systems are functioning without disruption. “Supply chains remain stable and all fuel stations are operating normally, with no indication of scarcity,” he added. The clarification comes after panic-driven crowds were reported at several fuel stations, triggered largely by unverified information circulating on social media. He also warned that such behaviour could create artificial shortages and lead to avoidable congestion, affecting routine supply operations. The CP said that they are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with relevant departments and fuel agencies and that measures have been put in place to ensure smooth logistics and to prevent any disruption in essential services.“Remain calm and do not fall prey to rumours. Avoid panic buying as it could strain otherwise sufficient supplies,” said Sajjanar and reiterated that cooperation from the public is crucial to maintaining normalcy and avoiding unnecessary complications. He said that the administration continues to keep a close watch on developments, assuring that timely updates will be provided to prevent misinformation and ensure public confidence. tnn
