An official had said Badal will be discharged on Friday and is likely to be flown to Punjab in the afternoon
According to the police, the Shiromani Akali Dal chief was attacked by a member of the Nihang order inside the Gurdwara Mata Sahib Devan Ji Mugat on the outskirts of Maharashtra’s Nanded town on Thursday.

Badal was shown in a visual where he was walking inside a hospital building with a cloth wrapped around his right hand.
Officials said that the SAD Chief was moved to Yashosai Hospital in Nanded, where he was operated on by doctors.
“The surgery lasted for an hour and a half. There was a tendon injury, and he had a sharp penetrating wound. His tendon was repaired. The plastic surgeon also repaired his ulnar artery nerve. He is out of danger,” said a doctor from the hospital.He said that Badal will be discharged on Friday afternoon.
A police department official said that the SAD chief will be likely flown to Punjab this afternoon.
The police say that they are yet to find the motives behind the accused, Jaspal Singh’s attack on Badal.

Singh, who is around 60-62 years of age, is based out of Pune with his family and holds commerce and law degrees. For the past two years, the accused has been a sewadar or volunteer at the gurdwara (incident site) and was staying alone in Nanded.
The accused has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and voluntarily causing grievous hurt to a public servant to deter them from performing their duty.
