Pune: A 42-year-old milk supplier died after his motorcycle hit the door of a parked car that was suddenly opened on Buttee Street in Pune’s Camp area on Thursday night. The impact threw him onto the road, causing fatal head injuries.The Pune Cantonment police identified the deceased as Suryakant Bidkar, a resident of Gawliwada in Camp. The accident occurred around 10.30 pm while he was riding to a temple.A relative of Bidkar said a woman had parked her car along the roadside and abruptly opened its door. “Bidkar, who was on his way to the temple, did not have enough time to stop and crashed into the door. He lost his balance, fell onto the road in front of a woman riding a scooter and died of head injuries,” the relative said.The Cantonment police have registered a case of causing death by negligence. “We have recovered CCTV footage from the spot. Our investigations are on,” a police officer said.
