T’puram: A delegation of participants from Keralam and Tamil Nadu who attended the fourth Congress and Youth Forum of the International Russophile Movement (IRM) in Moscow met governor Rajendra Arlekar at Lok Bhavan on Monday.The delegation included members of the Indo-Russian Youth Club and briefed Arlekar on their participation in the forum, held in Moscow from Sept 16 to 19. They shared their experiences of interacting with young people and delegates from different countries and discussed the opportunities the visit provided to understand Russia and contemporary India-Russia relations.A total of 36 students from India participated in the Youth Forum, including 19 from Kerala. Many of them are students of Russian language, history and international relations.During the interaction, the students shared their experiences of visiting Russia and participating in the international forum. They highlighted the role of direct interaction among young people from different countries in promoting mutual understanding and strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Russia.The delegation was led by Ratheesh C Nair, honorary consul of Russian Federation in Thiruvananthapuram and a member of the executive bureau of the International Russophile Movement.
