Prayagraj: Special Task Force sleuths on Thursday busted a solver’s gang and arrested 11 of its members, including the principal of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Naini, on the charges of accepting money from candidates to arrange solvers to write exam on their behalf in the computer-based test (CBT) of the All-India Trade Test (AITT) held on the ITI campus on Wednesday.They have also seized Rs 5.26 lakh cash, six mobiles, several documents, three Aadhaar cards, three PAN cards, seven ATMs, five admit card photocopies, five monitors, five CPUs, five keyboards, five mouses from their possession.Those arrested were Ashok Kumar (principal of ITI, Naini), Ravi Prakash (exam in charge), instructors Phool Prakash, DK Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Raj Kumar Maurya, and solvers Shivam Kumar, Rannvijay Singh, Jai Singh, Jitendra Patel and Dilip Kumar Patel.A senior officer said: “The online exam is being organised on the campus of the ITI, Naini between July 11 and Aug 8 in three sessions. Police received inputs that staff and principal of ITI (Naini) were hand in glove with a solver’s gang and following which, a team of STF (Prayagraj unit) on Wednesday swung into action and managed to arrest 11 people.”After the arrest, Ravi Prakash admitted that he was working as supervisor at the ITI and used to charge Rs 4000 from each candidate to arrange a solver.
