Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin on Monday took a dig at the AIADMKBJP alliance, stating that the two parties were a symbol of contradiction, `unclear of who was heading the alliance’.Speaking at Tamil Nadu Leadership Summit 2026 organised by The Week in Chennai, Stalin said while Prime Minister Narendra Modi says there would be an `NDA govt’ after elections, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami says there would be an `AIADMK govt.’ “They themselves are unclear about who is heading the alliance,” he said.Stalin said this was the reason he had stated that this election was a contest between `Tamil Nadu and NDA.’ He said some people questioned him for making such a statement, an apparent reference to EPS. “But everytime Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah visit TN, they are confirming my words,” Stalin said reiterating that `Team Tamil Nadu would defeat Team Delhi’ in the election. He also responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charge that the Maduravoyal-Port elevation corridor project was delayed because of DMK. Blaming the AIADMK for the delay, Stalin said it was the AIADMK that opposed the project. “After we assumed office, we took it up with the Union govt and ensured the work resumed,” he said. He accused the BJP and AIADMK for `spreading falsehood’ for electoral gain as they couldnt find anything else to complain against the DMK.Highlighting his govt’s achievements, Stalin listed initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, industry and women’s welfare, asserting that the state has emerged as an `all rounder’ over the past 5 years.“Tamil Nadu emerged as a leading state in economic growth and human development. My vision is to transform Tamil Nadu into a one trillion dollar economy in the next five years if the current growth momentum continued,” Stalin said.Stalin also described his alliance as one based on ideology rather than arithmetic, dismissing suggestions that managing a broad coalition was a challenge.
