Madhubani: The 48th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jaynagar, on Thursday launched a 15-day phone repairing training programme aimed at promoting skill development and self-employment among youth in border areas. The course was inaugurated at the community hall in Pipraun village under the Mahadevpatty border outpost.The programme is being conducted under the guidance of commandant Govind Singh Bhandari, with deputy commandant Hari Narayan Jat leading the initiative. Jat formally inaugurated the training and addressed the participants.A total of 30 youths from villages including Karuna, Khauna, Harlakhi, Naharnia, Pipraun, Umgaw, Kamtaul, Gangaur, Gopalpur and Phulhar have enrolled in the course.In his address, Jat emphasised the importance of technical skills in achieving self-reliance. He encouraged participants to utilise the training effectively to explore opportunities in self-employment and gainful employment.Highlighting the message of commandant Bhandari, officials said skill-based training for border youth remains a priority for SSB, as it helps connect them with livelihood options and contributes to nation-building.
