Itanagar: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has destroyed wild cannabis spread over around one acre in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district as part of an anti-narcotics drive, an official release said on Wednesday.The operation was conducted on Aug 11 by the 38th Battalion of the SSB in the Bomja village area under the Area of Responsibility (AoR) of the G-Coy Bomja unit.During the enforcement drive, the team identified and uprooted wild cannabis plants across the targeted one-acre patch to prevent any potential misuse or illegal harvesting.The initiative is part of the border-guarding force’s ongoing efforts to curb illicit narcotic cultivation, prevent drug-related activities, and maintain public safety and security in border areas of Tawang.
