Srinagar, Aug, 15: Sanjeev Kumar, Commandant, Adhoc Battalion VII, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), hoisted the Tricolour at New Auditorium of NIT Srinagar on Saturday to mark the 80th Independence Day.
The ceremony was attended by SSB personnel temporarily stationed at NIT Srinagar New Auditorium for law-and-order duties during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The jawans joined the celebrations with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
Following the flag hoisting, Kumar interacted with the personnel, conveyed Independence Day greetings and appreciated their discipline, dedication and commitment to duty. He also distributed sweets among the jawans and enquired about their well-being during the deployment.
The Commandant delivered the Director General, SSB’s message and conveyed his good wishes to the force personnel and their families. He acknowledged the challenges of serving away from home and lauded the jawans for maintaining high standards of professionalism.
The National Anthem was also sung during the ceremony. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets, reflecting the spirit of patriotism, camaraderie and national service among the SSB personnel stationed at NIT Srinagar.
