Jaipur: Senior journalist Narayan Bareth, who had worked with the BBC and several media organisations, passed away in Jaipur late Friday night. He was 68. He also served as State Information Commissioner from 2020-2022.Bareth was suffering from pneumonia for the past few days and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jaipur. His last rites were performed Saturday at Moksh Dham in Malviya Nagar.Bareth began his career with Navbharat Times in Kota in 1986 and later worked with The Asian Age, BBC, Dainik Bhaskar, Deccan Chronicle, and The Pioneer. He also served in several educational institutes, including Rajasthan University and Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication.Former CM Ashok Gehlot, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, BJP state president Madan Rathore, LoP Tikaram Jully, and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot expressed their condolences on social media. tnn
