About the ‘Web Kid’ in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
The ending scene from ‘Brand New Day’ shows a young boy sitting on top of his father’s shoulders in front of the New York City hospital. He’s wearing a Spider-Man costume while waiting with a large crowd about Peter Parker after suffering a fatal gunshot. When Frank Castle, played by Jon Bernthal, devises a plan to use the crowd to their advantage and sneak the Spidey out of the area, the little kid plays a big role. While the plan works, Holland’s character makes eye contact with the ‘Web Kid,’ who makes the friendly Spider-Man hand gesture at him. Peter Parker makes sure to return the gesture.
Who is Elvis Carlos , who played the ‘Web Kid’ in ‘Brand New Day’
The child from one of the ending scenes of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ featuring the Spidey costume is none other than 7-year-old Elvis Carlos. Soon after the film hit theatres worldwide, his family shared photos and videos of the experience on Instagram. His mother, Siân, wrote in the caption, “Forever grateful for this. BIG thank you to [director Destin Daniel Cretton, Tom Holland] + the entire production team who made the whole family feel so special on set. & of course a HUGE thank you to [Stage Space Agency].”Carlos’ father, Ken Carlo, is also featured in the film briefly as the man who held Elvis Carlos on his shoulders in the crowd. The child’s talent and management agency also shared a clip of the scene from the film on their account and wrote “From self-tape to the silver screen. So proud of Elvis. He is living the dream” in the caption.
