VADODARA: Three youths from Pune died when their SUV hit a median and swerved off the road on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway near Dahod in eastern Gujarat in the early hours of Tuesday.The accident occurred around 3am near Dhadhela village of Limkheda taluka.After veering off the road, the SUV, suspected to be travelling at breakneck speed, hit an electricity pole. The impact was so severe that the car’s engine came off and fell several metres ahead of the vehicle. Two persons were declared dead by paramedics at the spot. They were identified as Abhishek Yadav (26) and Sachin Biradar (27). Tejas Dagde (26) was rushed to Limkheda for treatment and later referred to a hospital in Dahod, where he died.Iinspector B K Chavda said the deceased went to Odisha from Pune. “From there they came to Ujjain and visited the Mahakaal temple. They were going to Somnath from Ujjain when the accident occurred. Going by the damage to the pole and the car, it is evident the car was at an extremely high speed,” said Chavda.
