Jaipur: A speeding car hit a motorcycle carrying a husband and wife in Jaipur’s Harmada area, throwing them nearly 20 feet away and leaving both critically injured with multiple fractures. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced Monday and showed the impact of the collision, throwing them about 20 feet.The accident took place near Loha Mandi under Harmada Police Station limits around 3 pm Sunday. However, the CCTV footage of the incident surfaced Monday, showing the speeding car ramming into the motorcycle while the couple was crossing the road. “Also, it is seen that while crossing the road on the bike, the man did not see on the side of the road and entered the road on the bike,” said a police officer.SHO of Harmada police station Uday Yadav said the injured were identified as Pushpendra Singh and his wife, Vandana Kanwar, residents of Tirupati Vihar. Police said the couple was crossing the road on their bike when the overspeeding car hit them with great force.The impact flung both riders onto the road, leaving them seriously injured. Locals immediately rushed to their aid and informed the police. Police shifted the injured couple to a private hospital on Sikar Road. “Both have sustained multiple fractures and are undergoing treatment in the ICU of the hospital,” said an officer.Following the collision, the driver of the car managed to flee from the scene. “We have registered a case and seized the car. We have also launched a search to trace the driver, who is on the run,” said an officer.An investigation is underway.
