Times News NetworkLucknow: Objectionable posters showing Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and party chief Akhilesh Yadav wearing skull caps and boldly captioned Dil mein Babur, muh mein Ram (Babur in the heart, Ram on the lips) appeared across the state on Tuesday, triggering a political row.The posters surfaced at a time when BJP and opposition parties are involved in a slugfest over the alleged donation theft at the Ram temple. SP described the posters as BJP’s attempt to shift people’s attention from temple theft. SP functionaries also described it as an attempt to disrupt communal harmony.At the district level, SP functionaries were contemplating FIRs against those behind the posters and demanded that police must scan CCTV footage to identify those who put out the posters.The posters surfaced around the same time in Lucknow, Sitapur, Mathura, Barabanki and other districts suggesting that it was a statewide co-ordinated move, SP leaders said. The SP leaders got the posters removed in their respective districts.In Sitapur, SP MP from Dhaurahara, Anand Bhadauria, who spotted the posters near the highway and Kanshiram Colony on the bypass, got them removed and burnt. “This is the second time that such posters have surfaced and I am convinced that BJP is behind it,” Bhadauria told TOI and added that it was an attempt to shift the focus of people from the donation theft.In Mathura, SP district president Virendra Yadav got the posters removed and described it as an attempt by anti-social elements to disturb communal harmony. In Barabanki, SP workers tore down the posters. Kotwali police station in-charge Inspector Sudhir Singh told reporers that posters were seized and an investigation launched. He said an FIR will be lodged after receiving a complaint, and action will be taken against those responsible.
