Chennai: Southern Railway announced changes in the pattern of EMU and MEMU trains, including partial and full cancellation of services from May 17 to June 19, owing to pre-non interlocking engineering works at Arakkonam Yard in the Central-Arakkonam section.While several train services between Tiruvalangadu and Arakkonam and back will be affected, city commuters may largely remain unaffected as only three trains originating from or terminating at Moore Market Complex will be fully cancelled in June.A release issued by Chennai Division said several MEMU services between Moore Market Complex and Tiruchanur, Vellore and Arakkonam will remain fully cancelled between June 6 and June 19, while a few services will be cancelled only on June 19.Several EMU and MEMU services between Arakkonam and Tiruttani will also remain fully cancelled from May 17 to May 31. In addition, multiple suburban services between Moore Market Complex and Arakkonam will be partially cancelled between Tiruvalangadu and Arakkonam during the same period.The Moore Market Complex-Arakkonam MEMU leaving at 7 am on June 19, Moore Market Complex-Tiruchanur MEMU leaving at 9.50 am from June 6 to 19 and Tiruchanur-Moore Market Complex MEMU leaving at 1.30 pm from June 6 to 19 will remain fully cancelled.
