Lucknow: An echo of valour tales and stories of supreme sacrifice by Indian soldiers will come alive every evening at the Smritika War Memorial in the city’s cantonment area.Officials said that the Hindi presentation will be held at 7 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, visitors will have two options — 7 pm to 7.35 pm and 8 pm to 8.35 pm. The show will remain closed on Mondays and Thursdays.Tourism and Culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the fixed schedule would make it easier for families, students and tourists to include the memorial in their evening plans.“Under CM Yogi, the state govt is creating tourism experiences that allow people to engage with history in a more direct and memorable way. The courage and sacrifice of our soldiers should reach every generation, and this show presents that legacy in a form that people can see, hear and remember,” he said.The presentation uses the memorial’s architecture as part of its storytelling, with narration leading into patriotic music and sound as changing lights and projected visuals transform the walls. The experience builds towards a message of courage, national service and remembrance.Smritika, the Central Command War Memorial, is dedicated to the valour and sacrifice of personnel of the Indian Armed Forces. The show was developed under an estimated Rs 8.95 crore initiative executed by Headquarters Central Command in partnership with UP govt and UP State Tourism Development Corporation.The attraction adds a military heritage experience to Lucknow’s growing evening tourism circuit, which also includes the light and sound show at Residency. Other attractions such as Nausena Shaurya Vatika, Rashtra Prerna Sthal and Lucknow Museum of Heritage and Art have further expanded the city’s tourism offerings.The tourism department said the Smritika show would offer visitors an opportunity to experience military history in an engaging format while adding another destination to Lucknow’s evening tourism itinerary.
