Shivamogga: A 55-year-old civil contractor from Bengaluru has mysteriously gone missing from Thirthahalli town in Shivamogga district, prompting local police to launch a search.Anil B Ramdas, a resident of Kodigehalli ini Bengaluru, had checked into Mayura Hotel Lodge in Thirthahalli on Aug 14. According to police, he left the lodge premises around 5.30am on Aug 15. He has not been seen or heard ever since. Despite search efforts by family and acquaintances, his whereabouts are unknown, police said.Meanwhile, Shivamogga Rural police have arrested two persons — Likhith from Kommanalu village, and Deepu from Bikkonahalli village — in connection with a late-night knife-point robbery targeting a motorist near Kommanalu on Savalanga Road.The victim, R Subhash, a farmer from Mattali Jaddu village in Hosanagara taluk, was returning home by car on Aug 14 night after finishing work at Savalanga. When he pulled over near a private school in Kommanalu, the two accused approached him, threatened him at knife-point, and allegedly robbed him of Rs 2,000 in cash and a 6gram gold bracelet valued about Rs 90,000 before fleeing the scene. Following Subhash’s complaint, Shivamogga Rural police apprehended the suspects. Further investigation into the stolen items and the suspects’ involvement in prior criminal activity is on, police said.
