Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Munde family seeks police protection after threat complaint against valmik karadDnyaneshwari Munde, the wife of slain Parli businessman Mahadev Munde, submitted a complaint application to the local police claiming a threat to her family from Valmik Karad and his two sons.In her application, dated Feb 20, she said Karad and his sons should be held responsible if she or her family members faced any untoward incident. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Dnyaneshwari Munde also said that while her son was returning from tuition on the day of Shiv Jayanti, he was stopped and beaten by an unknown person.Raghunath Nachan, the in-charge of the Parli police station, said a non-cognisable offence has beenregistered against one youth named Bala in connection with the alleged attack on Munde’s son. “The whereabouts of the accused are still not known. The victim claims that the accused abused and slapped him,” he said.Mahadev Munde was killed on Oct 20, 2023, and an SIT was formed recently to investigate his killing.Meanwhile, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule expressed support for the Munde family. “The investigation into the murder of Mahadev Munde in Parli, Beed, is in progress, and some people have been taken into custody as suspects. However, it is now alleged by the wife of the deceased man that some members of a gang have started threatening the family. Considering the background of this case and the sequence of events to date, I request the home minister and the Beed superintendent of police to please ensure that adequate protection is provided to the Munde family,” she said in a post on social media.Karad is the alleged mastermind of the Dec 2024 abduction and killing of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh and has been behind bars. He is currently facing trial.
