Kanpur: More than six people, including a six-month-old child, were injured when an autorickshaw overturned into a water-filled pit near Rizwan Farm House on Domanpur Road in Purvamir under Maharajpur police station limits on Tuesday.According to police, the autorickshaw was travelling from Dibiyapur to the Chandrika Devi Temple at Baksar Ghat in Unnao for a child’s mundan ceremony when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp turn. Passersby jumped into the water and rescued the women and children trapped in the vehicle. The autorickshaw was badly damaged in the accident.The injured were identified as Sukhrani (55), Sanno, six-month-old Pradeep, Divyanshi (13), Ranno (30), Kunti (50), Vikas (8), Akanksha (3), and driver Satyam (24).Eyewitnesses alleged that Satyam was driving at high speed and lost control at the turn. Police rushed the injured to a hospital for treatment and are investigating the incident.
