Times News NetworkSurat: Six persons were booked for allegedly forging an Aadhaar card to fraudulently transfer and sell seven plots in Bhavaninagar-2 Society at Pali village in the Sachin GIDC area.According to the police complaint, the plots were purchased by Virumati Modi in 1994 through sale agreements. After her death in 2024, ownership of the seven plots passed to her son, Jayesh Modi, under a registered will. Around six months ago, Modi discovered that the plots were transferred to others and subsequently sold.Police said the accused allegedly created a fake Aadhaar card in the name of Virumati Modi. While the forged document carried her name, it bore a different Aadhaar number and date of birth. Using the fake identity, the accused allegedly transferred ownership of the plots.Investigators said Ajit Singh allegedly took ownership of three plots, while Yogesh Singh acquired the remaining four. The plots were later sold with the alleged assistance of co-accused Arjun Khere, Satish Dumaswala and Ramsagar Maurya, who acted as witnesses to the transactions.Police also booked the woman whose Aadhaar card details were allegedly used to create the forged identity.
