Palanpur: Patan local crime branch (LCB) apprehended six men with five country-made pistols, four cartridges and materials suspected to be used to manufacture explosives in Radhanpur town on Wednesday.The seizures were effected during combing operations in Varahi, Sami and Shankheshwar ahead of the Rath Yatra.Those arrested are Mazharhussain Saiyad, Iqbalkhan Malek, Ashrafkhan Malek, Nasibkhan alias Lalo Malek, Hanif Bhatti and Mobeen Vepari. Two accused, Dahyaji Majirana and Dariyakhan Bhatti, are absconding.A case under the Arms Act was previously registered against Mazharhusen Saiyed at Harij police station in 2025. Several cases were earlier registered against Majirana, most of which are under the Arms Act. Several cases have also been registered against Bhatti.Apart from pistols worth Rs 20,000, four live cartridges, a grinder, a grinder plate, pliers, a hammer, sandpaper, a steel file, files with wooden and metal handles, an anvil, a saw and other materials and tools suspected to be used for making explosives and weapons were also recovered.
