Nagpur: The Nagpur rural police on Thursday constituted a seven-member special investigation team (SIT) to probe a case of alleged forcible religious conversion, molestation and attempt to murder of a woman from Kolkata at a shrine at Gadeghat in Old Kamptee area.According to the complaint, the woman had been visiting the shrine frequently and on the night of April 18, she was allegedly forced to convert her religion. When she resisted, they allegedly molested her and attempted to kill her. She was kept in confinement but managed to escape and returned to Kolkata, where she lodged a complaint.The case was later transferred to Kanhan police station. Considering the gravity of the matter, SP Harssh A Poddar immediately formed the SIT led by addl SP Anil Mhaske.So far, three persons have been arrested in connection with the case. The accused include Tanviruddin Kalimuddin, 52, and Mustafizuddin Tanviruddin, 24, both residents of the shrine, Gadeghat, and one Tejas Khobragade, 24, from New Khalasi Line, Kamptee.
