Hyderabad: Four days after Telangana’s draft SIR-2026 electoral roll was released, voters are flagging a new set of problems names missing, non-searchable draft-roll PDFs, portal access failures and BLOs unable to explain what happened to applications.Voters questioned whether the revision had removed discrepancies uniformly, with one complaint from Khairatabad alleging that the number of voters shown at a commercial property had actually increased.PDFs, portal make verification difficultVoters also complained about the format in which draft rolls were made available. One user said PDFs containing about 600 names each were non-searchable, forcing voters to manually scan pages. He later said he could not locate his own name in the expected files.A similar complaint from Serilingampally said the rolls were non-searchable and revisions to some polling booths were not clearly explained, complicating the process of locating names. The voter sought a voter-ID-based search facility.Another voter trying to check the draft roll for Constituency 61 said repeated attempts to access the official portal failed, leaving him unable to verify his status.Khairatabad ‘ghost residence’ allegationA separate complaint concerning Khairatabad AC-60, Part 237, alleged that a commercial complex in MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, was shown as a residential address and that the number of allegedly non-resident voters there had risen from 19 to 44. BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan sought suspension of officials, a forensic audit of commercial premises showing multiple voters and withdrawal of cases allegedly filed against BRS BLAs who raised the issue.Meanwhile, Congress representative Dr Lubna Sarwath sought intervention from election authorities over the notice process. Citing the Aug 17 draft-roll schedule — claims and objections till Sept 16 and disposal of claims, objections and notices till Oct 15 — she said BLOs had not received notices for voters flagged with anomalies even by the fourth day after publication.She also alleged that some BLOs were telling voters that those whose names appeared in the draft would not receive anomaly notices. Sarwath sought booth-wise anomaly/logical-discrepancy lists on the CEO Telangana website, clarity on deadlines where notices had not yet been supplied to BLOs, and better training for field staff.She said genuine electors could be pushed into anomaly lists because of typographical errors dating back to 2002 or subsequent records. She also sought English and Urdu versions of the ASDD list, which she said was currently available only in Telugu.Forms acknowledged, but names missingOne user said his sister, a registered voter holding a valid EPIC, never received an SIR Enumeration Form and subsequently found her name missing from the draft roll.Another voter said his name figured in the previous electoral roll and that he had submitted Form 8 online. Despite an official acknowledgement , he alleged that his name was deleted from the SIR draft without any reason being communicated.In another complaint, a voter said a form with supporting documents was submitted for his daughter and an acknowledgement was received, but her name was still absent from the draft roll. According to the post, the BLO said he had no information about it while the supervisor did not answer calls.
