Wardha: Over 1,400 residents of Sindi (Railway) staged a unique protest on Saturday by writing letters in their blood, demanding that the existing primary health centre (PHC) be granted the status of a rural hospital. The letters will be sent to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging the govt to take an immediate decision on the long-pending demand.Residents said inadequate health facilities at the PHC forced patients to travel to Wardha and other cities for treatment. In emergency situations, patients face severe hardship. Wardha MP Amar Kale extended his support to the agitation. He also wrote a letter in blood and demanded that the govt take immediate decision. “If the govt does not grant approval immediately, the agitation will be intensified,” Kale said.Representatives of various political parties, social organisations and local citizens participated in the protest in large numbers.
