Chennai: Shriram General Insurance has launched Shri Health Suraksha 2.0, an upgraded health insurance plan aimed at providing broader and more flexible medical coverage.The indemnity-based policy has been designed to address gaps in traditional health insurance by removing common restrictions such as room rent caps and co-payment requirements. The plan also introduces unlimited restoration of the sum insured and a higher cumulative bonus for claim-free years.Under the policy, the sum insured can be automatically restored an unlimited number of times within a policy year if it is exhausted due to claims. The insurer also offers a cumulative bonus of up to 250% of the base sum insured for claim-free years, according to a statement.The plan removes limits on room and ICU charges, allowing policyholders to choose hospital facilities without budget constraints. It also follows a zero co-payment structure, ensuring the insurer pays the full admissible claim amount.In addition, the policy covers ambulance expenses, including air ambulance costs up to the sum insured, and includes coverage for medical consumables. The plan integrates modern medical treatments with traditional AYUSH therapies.Anil Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of the company, said the product is intended to strengthen the company’s retail health portfolio by removing common industry restrictions and helping families manage rising medical costs.
