Shehzad Poonawalla, who served as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has resigned from the party.

Poonawalla tendered his resignation to the top brass of the BJP and cited personal reasons behind the decision, CNN-News18 reported citing sources.
No official statement has been released so far.
In his updated bio on X (formerly Twitter), there is no mention of the BJP. However, Poonawalla describes himself as a “lifelong follower” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shehzad joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after quitting the Congress following a fallout over the party’s presidential election process in 2017. After joining the BJP, Shehzad was elevated to the position of national spokesperson.
