New Delhi: Five people allegedly opened fire at a house in the Farsh Bazar area of Shahdara in the early hours of Wednesday.Police said a PCR call was received around 1.30am reporting gunshots near the Old Tejab Mill. When a team reached the spot, they learnt that two men on a motorcycle and three on a scooter had stopped outside the house, pulled out pistols and allegedly fired one round each before fleeing.The house owner has been identified as Talib, 29, who runs fruit and vegetable stalls at the Sabzi Mandi.Two empty cartridges were recovered from the spot. A preliminary inquiry suggests the incident may be linked to past enmity, though the motive is yet to be confirmed. The accused have not been identified so far.“Vehicle numbers and the identities of the accused are being verified through CCTV footage. Statements of residents and the complainant have been recorded,” a senior police officer said.A case has been registered at Farsh Bazar police station under sections related to attempt to murder and use of firearms.
