Mysuru: City police have launched a dedicated QR code-based system — Anonymous Drug Complaint Portal for Students — to help students report drug abuse and trafficking anonymously.By scanning the code, students can file complaints related to drug consumption, sale, transport and peddling. The system assures 100% confidentiality and does not collect personal details.The initiative covers more than 75 colleges and educational institutions across the city. The QR code will be displayed at prominent locations on campuses.Police said they will initiate action within 30 minutes of receiving a complaint. Complaints filed through the system will reach senior officers directly, preventing leaks or delays.Students can also share drug-related information anonymously through WhatsApp number 8277948080 linked to the portal, according to city police.The initiative was launched in the presence of principals and heads of educational institutions here. Police said it aims to instil fear of law among drug peddlers and provide students a safe and quick reporting mechanism.Commissioner Seema Latkar urged college managements, teachers and students to widely publicise the QR code and WhatsApp number and make full use of the anonymous system.
