Chandrapur: Forest teams on Thursday morning captured the second sub-adult cub of tigress T-2, the big cat blamed for killing four women in Sindewahi range of Chandrapur last week. The mother tigress was captured earlier this week. The 17-month-old female cub, identified as T-2-SAF-1, was tranquilised and trapped at Kachhepar-1 beat under Sindewahi range in Bramhapuri forest division. Veterinary officer Dr Ravikant Khobragade supervised the operation carried out by the Tadoba Rapid Response Team (RRT). Sharp shooter Ajay Marathe darted the cub with the tranquillising shot. The first cub was trapped on Monday night in Pawanpar area, where the mother tigress had earlier been tranquilised. Forest officials said the remaining two cubs are moving through dense forest patches. A 77-member team has been deployed with drone surveillance, mobile sensor live cameras to monitor their movement. Officials said the cubs were frequently changing locations, making the search op difficult. Baits and surveillance systems have been set up across the forest.
