Srinagar, Aug 2: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri, Prince Kumar on Saturday conducted a night inspection of Uri town to assess the functioning of street lights and review the overall lighting arrangements.
During the inspection, the SDM observed that several streetlights were either non-functional or required immediate maintenance.
“I conducted a night inspection of the streetlights in Uri town along with local residents to better understand the issues affecting their functioning,” he said.
Taking serious note of the deficiencies, the Municipal Committee (MC) Uri was directed to immediately repair all defective street lights and install additional lights wherever required.
The SDM emphasized the importance of proper street lighting for public safety and directed the Municipal Committee to complete all repairs and installations on priority.
He also briefed the locals about the development projects that are in the pipeline for Uri, as well as those currently under execution, stating that these initiatives will greatly benefit the local residents. He said the administration is committed to addressing the genuine demands of the people of Uri and ensuring their timely resolution.
The inspection reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving civic amenities and ensuring a safer environment for the public.
